Some recent favourites I love...<3

This is the best quote ever.

This kind of works for me.

I agree with this

Cupcake Nails

I've seen some cute cupcake nails on Pintrest (follow my Nails board here)and wanted to give it a bash with the colours I have amassed recently.

What do you think? I think the very light pink background kind of makes it look funny, the blue makes it look like my nails are narrower and pointier than they are. Maybe a minty background next time?

I've had a few people notice and give compliments which is nice :-)

I hope you like them, they've been on for a week now...and the bottom of the cupcakes are looking pretty raggy. I really should take it off by I just think they are so fun <3

Tuesday Loves

I'm a little late with all the 'ape-ing' around I've been doing this week (I'll share some photos from my *monkey* business later in the week)

But here are some things that have rocked my socks this week on the web..

How did I not notice this? I think it might possibly have blown a small neural pathway when I spotted this on Pintrest this week...did *you* know about this?

This gal has just posted up some serious nail polish porn, I'm not even approaching this many polishes and I pretty much buy one a week (sale bin, obviously.)

I don't know where this is from, Pintrest seems to have changed everything so that original sources aren't linked...which is worrying. Everything seems to link to tumblrs with hundreds of pictures of naked girls. If you know who the designer of this is, I'd love for you to let me know so I can credit them :-)

I didn't get a photo of it, but I had this cute mani yesterday. The tutorial by The Beauty Department (who also have a bunch of great hair tutorials, come on Brown Mop, GROW!) was super easy and I got loads of compliments on it.

Er...I think I need this in my life. I have a pink fluffy coat that I keep getting told I look like a five year old wearing, and I'm not sure this would help that image, but boy, do I want it. Just to stroke, really.

I hope you are having a fun week :-) And thank you for recent comments on my blog, I really love reading them and I always respond and visit your blog in return xx

Cake Porn (sic)

It's quite possible that I am a cake pervert. Looking at cake porn makes me happy. It's not a good idea to search for cake porn on the internet though, unless you are of a certain persuasion.Which I'm not, I just like cakes. Not naked people throwing cake at each other.

You can follow my Cake Porn board on Pintrest if you like the cakes here :-)

Kawaii cupcakes! Love the detail on these, must have taken ages, I really don't think that I could bring myself to bite into one!! This is the link I have for these...here....I don't think it is the original link, so if you know the baker, drop me a comment.

Ombre, pink and flowers, I don't actually think I could love this cake more than I do already. Unless it turned out to be chocolate. From here.

If these don't make you want to fill your belly then there is something wrong with you, I don't think I would make these in little squares, I think I would make these a BEAST of a cheesecake, with a thicker layer of chocolate. Gosh, I want to eat these right now.

I wouldn't be able to eat these, I wonder who did?

This actually looks like something that I could feasibly manage to create. I love the colours and also, I think it would be super impressive to present at a kids party. I also had the idea of using different shades of the same two colours to fit in with a theme. Shame I can't actually BAKE.
It's super hot here today, and I'm in the office doing work stuff, mostly wishing it was 6 and I can leave and go to the outdoor pool to sun my poor white skin and soak up some much-needed vitamin D. I've decided it's only fair if we now have a super hot September and October too...all the rain has been so depressing, it's nice to see that unfamiliar yellow circle in the sky.

Things that I am loving this week..

For a mama with a Spidey-obsessed 4 year old, this pic makes me chuckle. I'm kind of ashamed to admit that I showed it to my boy. The little one said 'MUMMY HE HAS EYE BOOBIES' This is a good day. You can see more of Olly Moss' amazing artwork here.

This girl makes every other nail tutorial blog on the web look massively crap. I only discovered her this weekend and I'm hooked. Some of her taped designs are totally amazing, I'm going to give one a go later today and let you know how it goes. I always see her popping up on Pintrest too.

This may be a bit out there for some less immature readers. But I'm going to go for it anyway. I just started a new board on Pintrest. It has a very serious and intense theme. The theme is Things That Look Like Poop That Are Not Poop. I'll hope you will follow it and my journey into all things poop-a-like. This is a perfectly innocent fudgesicle that a small child is about to enjoy. (I should probably add that I would immediately remove an image if the owner was upset by being added. I'm not a bitch, I just like poo jokes.)

This image is from here, but I'm not sure that it is the original source. If you know the original source, please do let me know :-) I see a lot of motivational images posted on Pintrest and on various Tumblrs, but this one really rings true. I am a massive victim of the the whole 'Grass Is Always Greener' philosophy. The second line really rings true with me.

I hope you are having a lovely week x

Typography Rules

Some inspirational quotes to see me through...

1.here 2. here 3. here 4. here 5. here 6. here

I love all of these, there is so much awesome typography online, and so much inspiration <3

This week I will be sharing another cute nail tutorial - you can also follow me on twitter, pintrest and bloglovin'.

Pastels...

This week has been a little difficult, to put it mildly. Still there's always Pintrest right? Although looking at other peoples beautiful homes, fabulous clothes and skillful makes kind of makes me a little bit jealous. Here are some of my favourite things this week:

I can't imagine a situation where I am living in a raw stone cave, but if it ever does occur (and stranger things have happened) this will be my life <3 (please let me know if you are the source of this photo)

I have such a thing for raw crystals, this necklace should be mine.

How adorable? I might do this in my little boys room, although I get the feeling that hardcore "I want a spiderman room" pestering is going to swing into action very soon.

There's nothing like a little dreaming to make your heart feel like it's splitting in two...

This picture makes my heart feel a little jumpy...I don't know who is winning. I like to think it's the tree.

Lace...

I've seen so many sweet DIY's that feature lace or a lace motif recently, here are some of my favourites.

So sweet and easy to make, would be perfect for a wedding centrepiece. I just don't get that lucky finding decent doilies.

I bet these cast beautiful patternon the wall, and would probably be safer for a longer-burning candle.

Change is afoot on one of my very favourite blog-reads, Elsie + Emma from A Beautiful Mess posted this DIY just after a total website overhaul.

There are more indepth tutorials out there, but this is my favourite version of the lacey denim shorts trend that is knocking about all over pintrest at the moment. Adorable, and looks like it should be quite simple to achieve a similiar effect.

Here is a very much better and more detailed tutorial for these shorts :-)

I'm buying a new camera tomorrow, so expect to see some more pictures that I have taken on my blog in the coming months.

Tuesday Loves

Hi :-)

I am going to start a new series of links and images from the web that I want share :-) I often don't have much time in the week to blog, as I work a 9 hour job and also have a little boy and a life and a dog and all those other things that people tend to have...I haven't shared any pictures of my dog but I will soon. I warn you, she's a zombie-eyed beast.

I've been totally obsessed with nail tutorials on Pintrest;

This one is by me :-)

I just bought a new metallic gold from Barry M, so I can't wait to try this

Every time I have tried this effect it goes everywhere.  need to perfect my technique and love these colours

I'm tempted to try and make my own polish like this, using leftover glitter and bits, pretty huh?

I love the colour combo here

Follow me on Pintrest if you like these, I'm always pinning fun nail tutorials. Later on this week I will post the next stage in my twitter course, I've gone a little off-schedule but I promise the full course will be up in no time :-)

From The Web...

I can't stop spending all my free time on Pintrest. Seriously, it's becoming a concern the amount of late nights I have spent sitting up, scrolling down and pinning. I have now got to the point where I am able to successfully view hundreds of things on Pintrest whilst also performing another activity, such as talking on the phone, eating my dinner, watching a film, driving. Okay maybe not the last one. I don't even drive.

Here are some of my favourite DIY's that I have seen this week. You can follow my DIY board here :-)

This is a necklace by Rebekah, isn't it just the most awesome thing you have seen? I don't think I am actually going to have the patience, or in fact, time, to sit and string that many beads. I'm the sort who spills them all on my lap, decides to leave them there instead of picking them out of my thighs, then forgets and stands up. So I try to avoid beading projects with lots of teeny pieces, but seriously love the Aztec vibe of this necklace and her super easy tutorial.

When I was younger I loved making friendship bracelets, I would stick to the basics though, knots and plaits. I don't think I was ever able to make something like this, from La Manufacture but I'm really tempted to dig out my embroidery thread and give it a bash. Don't you think summer is the best time to wear bracelets?

I wanted to show you some other DIY's but the links on Pintrest are telling me they go to spam. This makes me really sad, as the lacey shorts that I love now won't be adorning my backside until I can track down the right link. Anyway, happy pinning, and don't forget about my twitter e-course, links to day 1, Followers and day 2, Content, are below.

Have a great day x

Calm before the storm...

I start a new job next week. Monday morning, bright and early, I will be trooping to the next town over and getting settled in behind my new desk.

Starting a new job is super scary. I have a feeling of dread in my stomach and a fuzzy head thinking about it. To cheer myself up I have been looking on Modcloth for things that I want to buy when I get my first pay cheque...

 All pieces available at modcloth

The big graphic jumper that reminds me of Saved By The Bell is sold out :-(

This week I have been relaxing, getting sunburnt and spending time with friends and family.

I wore my favorite summer dress and new sandals...

And I went for a lovely dinner and had a champagne cocktail, very extravagant right?

But overall, I've mostly been getting sunburnt, eating mint feasts and making potato salad.

I hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Katie
